On behalf of the Ministry of Energy (MoE), let me welcome you to our website. 

This Ministry is poised to bringing affordable, reliable, efficient and uninterruptible energy service to all Gambians .We are currently embarking on countrywide projects, which when completed will provide Gambians with the much needed electricity or energy services to their door steps. Energy is the engine of growth and therefore, its access will strongly help in improving people’s well-being.

The location of villages which are sparsely distributed across the country pose a big challenge. As a result this Ministry is looking at means of solarizing villages that are unreachable to the grid.

Renewable energy sources such as solar; wind and hydro power -in collaboration with our neighbor countries (OMVG) - is top in our agenda. Many potential investors are interested in Renewable Energy projects in The Gambia. We all must embrace Renewable Energy because we cannot rely on generators run by heavy fuel which are very expensive to maintain and destructive to the environment.
